Our u/s yesterday went great! The baby was moving all around. So much so that our tech would have to abandon a measurement and come back to it later. We couldn't get an accurate heart beat because the baby had the hiccups (so cute!) All of our pictures are terrible because the little bugger wouldn't stay still. LOL! Oh, and we saw it gulp some amniotic fluid which was pretty amazing.
The bad news is that my fibroids are STILL growing. I have three and they are all different types, lucky me! One inside, one in the wall, and one on the outside. I haven't had much pain yet and the tech was very surprised. Maybe when (and if) they start to shrink I will?
Also, my placenta is anterior. Does anyone else have this and if so, did it cause any problems with your pregnancy?
The good news is that because of these factors, I will get two more ultrasounds. One in eight weeks and another closer to delivery. Yippee! I was so sad thinking it was the last time I would see my LO until I met him or her in person.
Speaking of him or her... we remained team green! I was so worried that the tech would slip or that we would be able to tell. We have NO clue still. Which is perfect since I know it's a healthy baby at this point.
Re: update to... big ultrasound today
congrats on your great results! I have an anterior placenta and have had no problems with my pregnancy so far. You are lucky to be getting 2 more u/s (prob b/c of the fibroids - glad they aren't giving you too much pain)... we won't see our LO until we meet in person!
ETA: One downside to having an anterior placenta: you usually don't feel the baby move as much.....I am 31 weeks today and still only feel movement very early in the morning and in the evenings...
Thanks girls!!!
&& - I actually feel the baby move quite a bit. I know from yesterday that I am feeling kicks. The baby is on it's left side knees towards my belly button. I feel kicks all the time down low on my right. Hmmm... guess I'm just lucky feeling it for now?
Hurray for active babies! I've got an anterior placenta and 4 fibroids, three of which are 5cm+.
Anterior placenta - It took me a little longer to feel movement, but now that I do feel it I wonder if she ever sleeps!
Fibroids - I look and measure farther along than I am, and I get lots of ultrasounds. They haven't caused me any pain, and they've only grown during pregnancy so far. I did have nasty, nasty pain around week 22 or so, but they are pretty sure that was a scar adhesion issue, not the fibroids. The doctor doesn't think they will interfere with delivery, since none are close to the cervix.
I hope that helps!
