Toys for 8 month old

I am already thinking ahead towards Christmas (horrible I know) b/c I would love to get a jump start and not leave everything until the end.  Anyways...DD will be 8 months at Christmas so I am trying to come up with ideas for her.  I was thinking of getting her a standing toy or something along those lines since she will be mobile at that point.  Any suggestions for standing toys or any other toys for that age?

    I think that sounds like a good idea! I'm probably getting DD a nice piggy bank, and a baby stroller (also for helping w/ walking, etc). Those for sure, maybe other little things too.

    I have this train that goes around the floor in short bursts....DS loves chasing it now that he is crawling.  For standing, those musical table things are great fun.

    Our favorite toys include those ride on cars that can also be used as a push cart, the leap frog table, and anything the spits balls out.
