K 2 questions!!!!
1) Everyone seems so open to using Craigs list and ebay to buy baby stuff. Im such an over worrier and im scared to buy anything off those places let alone something my baby will be touching. There are some sick people out there they could have messed with the things. How do you make yourself ok with using the things?? (If i could get over the fear I know I could save a ton of money!)
2) Are there any cons to having baby sleep in your room in a bassinet for the first few months. DH is very adimit about baby being in our room!!
Re: Craigs list/ebay & Sleeping
The furniture we bought for the baby room and also the pack n play/tub/exersaucer will all be used. It's much cheaper and if it's still in good condition why not? I clean everything really good. I also go to the thrift store on base and get the NB sizes there because I don't want to waste my money on them since the baby will most likely not be in them for long.
Can't answer your 2nd question, sorry.
1. If you feel uncom. don't get stuff that you can't clean absolutely completely. like walkers, exercausers.... You can wipe them all down. i would never buy a mattress...
2. LOL why is he so adament? wait til that baby wakes him up all the time
just make sure your bedroom is well ventilated and has moving air like the nursery should be. Check google for all SIDS risks

I would not suggest buying EVERYTHING from craigslist but I am looking at some things. The things I consider are mostly hard goods. Im looking for the glider/ottoman which is bet 30-50 on craigs list, any solid wood good quality dresser with the right height I can use for a changing table, I plan to refinish as I have with other items from CL and yard sales. And perhaps a crib if it is solid and not too old.
IMO I would stick with the hard stuff and leave the rest to the registry like bedding, clothing, stuffed animals etc.
Most used items can be easily cleaned and sanitized. I would only be concerned about buying things with safety concerns (like carseats and cribs) second-hand.
As for having the baby in your room, I can't think of any cons. We're planning on co-sleeping, though, so I'm biased. I like the idea of having our LO nearby so I don't have to go far to breastfeed.

Where did you find the cute changing picture in your siggy. SAying you love feeling him kick!
I don't think there's anything wrong with the baby in a bassinet in your room. Like pp said, just make sure it's safe.
Re: craigslist, there's not much I wouldn't buy from there, but when I have bought exersaucers, toys, etc, I wash them with bleach, then warm soapy water, then sun them to disinfect. With cribs, etc, just check cpcs to make sure it hasn't been in a recall.
We have bought several things off of Craigslist. I was pretty sketchy at first, but most people will allow you into their homes to check out the item before you purchase it. It helps to get a general perspective on the people...( ex...if they smoke in the house, animals, etc...) And then I buy disinfecting wipes, and wipe away!!
As for a baby sleeping in room w/ us...with DS #1-he slept in a bassinet next to our bed for the first month(?)....It was easier to breastfeed...and as a first time mom, it eased my mind to look over and see that he was ok. He moved into his own room..and all was fine! With this one, we will do the same thing...not only do we have too, but we want to. We only have a 2 bd, and our 3 y.o. has the 2nd bedroom.
The cons of having baby in your room might just be that you don't have sex at bedtime as much anymore... but there are ways to work around that.
Babies who sleep in their parents' room for the first few months can reduce the risk of SIDS by up to 95% - that's a pretty big "pro!"
