I eat whatever I want. If you find that your baby is fussy after you eat something like spicy food or caffeine then avoid it, but otherwise there is no reason to avoid certain foods. You really just have to see how your baby is.
I have read that it is actually rare for a baby to be truly impacted by the foods you eat.
I asked my pedi about this on Wednesday. ?He said that I should watch my intake of the same foods that I had to be careful of during pregnancy - certain fish, unpasteurized cheese, large amounts of peanut butter, etc.
My babies get pretty gassy, and I found it comes from onions, green peppers, onions, cabbage & broccoli. I did cut out dairy for awhile, but that doesn't seem to bother them.
Nope, nothing. Eat away to your hearts content. If baby has problems, you can alter it as you go. It's best to expose them to the different tastes now than later.

You need to school that man! And definitely don't ever ask him for breastfeeding advice again. Soft cheeses are dangerous in pregnancy because of listeria. That's a bug that grows in your digestive tract. It's only dangerous for people who are pregnant or have AIDS or other immune compromise. Unless you're feeding it to your baby, they're not exposed to the listeria.
The only things I stay away from are whatever foods bother me.....bec they tend to bother him too....gassy foods like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli etc. I dont avoid them, i just eat them with moderation....otherwise, enjoy whatever you want to! You can eat sushi, soft cheeses (ive yet to find unpasteurized cheeses?) .....ped said that if peanut butter or honey are common allergies in the family to watch it, but they arent and he has been fine when i eat that.........

Sage is bad for your supply. Antihistamines are too. Other than that, there are no rules.
