What do you typically eat for breakfast and lunch?

I have been horrible with even remembering to eat breakfast and lunch... let alone anything healthy. I'm a SAHM so I feel like I'm always feeding the boys, but not myself. I'm trying to make it a point to eat at least 3 meals a day and for them to be mostly healthy. So... I need some ideas from you ladies since I'm going grocery shopping later today. What are some things you eat for breakfast and lunch? Thanks for your help!

Re: What do you typically eat for breakfast and lunch?

  • I usual do oatmeal for breakfast b/c it helps with breastfeeding and it's quick.?

For lunch I usually eat the left overs from dinner the night before. ?I always try to cook enough so there is a little extra for me.

I keep cold cuts in the house too and if I feel motivated, I`ll make myself a sandwich for the next day after DS has gone to bed.

  • Breakfast is always instant oatmeal.  Boring, but I'm tired and hungry and can't thikn of anything else Wink

Lunch usually is cottage cheese and triscuits or a PBJ sandwich, along with a banana or carrots and 2 Oreos.

Lunch may vary, but it always includes the Oreos.  Smile

  • it is cold salmon basically it's like lox. actually i think its the same lol it's really famous in the jewish community and can be found in many delis. it is delicious and i recommend you try it sometime.
  • Breakfast has always been the most difficult meal or me, as I am picky about breakfast foods!  I make a cassarole on Sunday or Monday that lasts the week.  I use 12 eggs (mostly just the whites), add cut potatoes, onion, turkey sausage and broccoli (sometimes).  Cook at 425 about 20 minutes, or until the egg looks cooked on top.  Be sure to spray the dish before using!!  Lunch, I make a large salad at the beginning of the week in a huge bowl and use that for lunches during the week.  I just make with tons of veggies and add protein depending what is in the house...chicken, turkey or steak from leftover dinner, cold cuts leftover on Friday, etc.  I find it easier to prepare all at once than just during the week.  That way I don't have an excuse to not eat, but I know it has to get eaten or it will all go bad!

    Good luck!

  • I eat a Nature Valley crunchy granola bar for breakfast at about 5:30 am and then try to have a banana or yogurt with fruit around 8:30. Lunch is usually a turkey sandwich on low-cal wheat bread with applesauce and string cheese or cottage cheese.
  • For breakfast it's usually just some cereal, or if I'm feeling like it I'll make peanut butter toast with brown sugar sprinkled on top.

For lunch it's usually left overs, or I'll make myself a pb&j, or cheat and go get a sub, lol

  • Honey bunches of oats, I usually always have cereal in the mornings. I stock up on different kinds of cereal so I don't get bored of any.

  • Breakfast is almost always toast with peanut butter and honey- I figure it gives me a sugar boost plus protine, I also try to open a can of peaches or pears-dump that in a tuperware container and eat a few pieces each morning.  Lunch is sometimes a turkey and cheese sandwich, or leftovers from the night before, or if LO is having a rough day-string cheese and mixed nuts.
