Poll: Moms of boys

Has your DS peed on you as they have gotten older?

The first week DS was born I got peed on pretty much every diaper change.  I was so frustrated and dreaded changing him.  After the first week he hasn't peed during a diaper change.  I don't even think about it anymore.  Do they outgrow it or did I master the boy diaper change.

My son just did it.  I think he thinks it's funny.

  • My experience is that they grow out of it after a little while and it doesnt become such an issue anymore.
  • He stopped doing it after a couple of months. I was better able to read his signs by then.

  • When he was a newborn, the poor kid peed in his own face. Every diaper change was so frustrating and so many diapers were wasted.

I don't remember when I noticed, but one day I just thought, "Hey, we're not getting peed on!" So no, he doesn't pee during changes anymore.

Agreed, until it's time for potty training.  DS is 3.5 & just last week I got peed in the face.  I was sitting in front of him when he was sitting on the potty & he forgot to point his little man down.

  • He only did it for a few weeks, and only a few times during those few weeks.

    THIS!!! ?Big Smile

  • Knock on wood, but DS has *never* peed on me. I kept waiting for it to happen, but it never did!
  • I have never been peed on. Neither has DH. I am very grateful too!
  • Both of my boys only pee'd on me for the first week or two.  Poor DS#1 always got it in his own face also...  I think after they got use to the air hitting it then they stopped peeing.
  • We are one of the lucky ones and haven't been peed on at all ever (knock on wood).  DS1 and 3 and DS2 is 1, so I hope we don't start getting peed on!

(FWIW - we're just really quick and don't leave them uncovered EVER).

  • My son only did that when he was a small infant, but I would always lay a wipe over his "part" so in case he peed it wouldn't be on me.
  • those first few weeks were full of pee fountains with both kids but then it stops.
  • *knocks on wood* I haven't been peed on since he was a few weeks old. However last night, as I was changing his diaper he said "pee on mommy!" And I said-- "OH NO!!! Big trouble mister!" he didn't pee on me, but he knew he needed to pee, cause as soon as I put his diaper on, he said "Jacob peed in the diaper" LOL
  • DS is 20 months and I haven't been pee'd on in a long time, can't remember the last time.  I think they adjust to the "cold" air during diaper changes.
