The way it works is our caseworker sends out our flier (yes, a flier) to all the county caseworkers in PA and those caseworkers can send along potential matches. We can look for children on the www.adoptpakids.org website and ask our caseworker to look into them. I've been doing that a lot since waiting to hear from my CW is annoying.
DH and I found a sibling group (two little girls) we are interested in. They had a hearing last month where a relative came forward, but she apparantly has a crummy C&Y record, but the judge is going to see how they all get along before making a decision in October.
Meanwhile foster mom isn't sure if she wants to adopt them or not.
If anyone ever makes up their minds we can possibly talk to their caseworker in October. Meanwhile, I guess we keep looking.
Ugh, these little children hurt my heart. How anyone can possibly think a relative with a record with C&Y would be a good placement, I don't know. And then to have a waffling foster mom on top of it...geesh.
Re: So, this matching thing is frustrating...
I'm sorry! That has to be very frustrating.
I do look at www.adoptuskids.org, but currently we are only approved for PA children.
As far as foster parents waffling, adopted children in PA continue to get a stipend until age 18, so that's not the excuse in this case.
I know the right one will come along, but good gracious it is hard.
