ok ladies DH and I are going to offically start TTC again in two months. Sunday I will start my second to the last pack of pills and then we will be back in the running. So...tell me everything I need to know about Natural Family Planning!
How exciting!! 1. buy a thermometer 2. sign up for fertility friend (its free) 3. take the tutorials on it. You can also read taking charge of your fertility, but the tutorials will cover lots of it too.

I took a class to do NFP. We did it to prevent pregnancy at first and then it was easier to TTC. The class explained charts and we met one night a month for several months. It was taught by a couple who had been charting for 20+ years and I would bring my charts and they would help analyze them and were "on call" to ask questions. I also got a great book about it in the class. I would look up NFP classes (usually taught through the Catholic church) or see if there are other classes in you area.
FF and TCOYF are great resources, but if you plan to use NFP to prevent pregnancy afterwards or if you have other questions about charting, you might look for books specifically to prevent. One of my friends has read TCOYF and has no problem getting pregnant, but has had 3 unplanned pregnancies because she doesn't know all the rules to follow for avoiding pregnancy with NFP.

Ditto to all of this, plus the OPKs that texas mentioned - I agree that they help a lot, especially when you're just starting out charting.
We were very successful with NFP for prevention until I stopped temping. The key is never to assume! I O'd two weeks late, got pregnant (and didn't know it, again thanks to not temping/knowing when to expect AF), and had a m/c that cycle.
I had a FF account, used OPKs, temped, and checked cervical mucous and position. It sounds like a lot, but it's really not. As long as you have a good thermomenter with backlighting and recall, you're all set. DH and I started with condoms, then once we got a good idea of my cycle we started avoiding sex for 7 days before ovulation, usually when my EWCM started coming. Once FF told me I had O'd, we went back to it! I agree with PP that a class might be helpful. Good luck!

if you are interested in cervical mucous you can start checking it now just to get a feel for it...pun intended.
ditto pp. and use OPK's if you want, i think they help a lot.
