No, I haven't looked far into the meanings of names because I am only 6 weeks. My first was a boy, we're hopeful for a girl this time around

Yes, this. I deal with people who have alexia quite often, so to me it is like naming a child "dyslexia: or "aphasia".

Alexis or Alexa are good alternatives.

Please don't use Alexia. It's a brain disorder. You might as well name her Dyslexia. Or Aphasia.

Alexa is beautiful. So is Alexandra. Or even Alexandria. Anything but Alexia!
