Just curious, any first time moms feel like they are already starting to show??? It doesn't really look like a 'baby bump' yet .. .mostly just bloat..but the past few days it's gotten much worse .... I think I will be really showing early ...anyone else??? Please make me feel better! lol (if it makes a difference, I am only 5'2" and started around 120 --after gaining 10 lbs during ivf..)
Re: Showing at 8 weeks???
This may help.....and it's kind of cool to see.

I would say bloat, your baby bumps will come in time.
I am 5'1 and started out at 117. I also feel that I am going to show early. I was told that smaller frames tend to be a little more obvious but I am a little surprised. I have gained about 5 pounds but all my pants still fit. I have noticed that all my tops and dresses with a fitted chest area are really tight and I have gone up a whole cup size (now I am a DD) so I think most of my weight is in my boobs.
Someone did tell me today that I had a "little tummy." I was mortified but everyone else thinks it's cute. It doesn't help that my best friend only but on 20 pounds with her daughter. Something she insists of reminding me of.
This is me, but my bloat has started to go away. I use to be horribly bloated up until about this week. I am only bloated certain times of the day now but my waistline is no more. I can still wear the same clothes, but I've gained weight. It is really odd. I use to have a flat belly and now it has a layer of softness over my abs. I hope my bump comes soon!
You are not going to show that early.. don't worry. I started out at 5'2'' and 118 lbs.
This is right when I found out I was pg around 4 weeks:
This is 20 weeks after gaining close to 20 lbs and I thought I was huge:
This was last week--- clearly I was NOT huge at 20 weeks, haha!
You aren't showing at 8 weeks - your uterus hasn't expanded beyond your hip line to be popping out yet. It's bloat - which can definitely add some extra weight and a pooch that will make you think its the baby bump.
And honestly, your size doesn't really determine when you will show. I am 5'0 and started off at 95 pounds with my son and no one had a clue I has pregnant until 25 weeks. My doctor said it has less to do with your height and weight and more to do with how long/short waisted you are relative to your body size. Apparently, I am very long waisted.
I know you all are anxious to look pregnant, but it will come soon enough...sometime probably in mid-2nd trimester. Then the backaches and crappy sleeping start, so don't be too anxious to get to it!!!
Me too! I can only eat tiny portions all day. I feel horrible if I try to eat a full meal.
I agree, I'm 5'2 and none of my pants are fitting. Luckily I have my bella band from my first pregnancy.
Unfortunately, my stomach was never very flat and I am super active. Some days I feel HUGE, but its mainly bloat and not baby. I have been weighing myself and have stayed around my weight before I became preggers.
Soon come.
OK, well then I have been bloated for an entire week and the top of my mini bump is hard...so if I am just bloated, I am pretending that it is indeed a baby and I think its rude when other people tell me, "You're just bloated"..well actually I am pregnant! NOT JUST bloated, so I am going with the baby. I have gained a few pounds, but not many. I lost a bunch of weight before I got pregnant, but my stomach muscles were not...exactly developed. So go with the baby bump friends and no thanks to those who say, in not so many words, "Oh... you're just fat".
PS--If you haven't picked up a Bella Band yet, it's the best thing--its basically a stretchy band that you can wear over your regular jeans/pants, just unbuttoned. My non-pregnant friends are jealous and want one for going out for dinner.
