  There's a bunch on www.meetup.com just search by "moms" and zip code.  i haven't found any that I like though... good luck.

  Yeah, seriously, they all seem closed to new members.  :: pout :: I've heard that some hospitals (you don't need to be a patient) and baby stores have them. Might be worth checking at Good Sam and the nearby boutiques.  hope you can make it to a GTG, too.

  the New West Side Mom's Playgroup on meetup.com is open to new members. it seems huge and has some nice people in it

  There are great ones through Good Sam and Emanuel (once a week, dropin basis, 3 age groups--0-4 mos, 5-8 mos, and over 8 mos (but they kind of cut off by 15 mos or so)--often discussion based, sometimes a guest speaker).  You don't have to deliver there to go.  I'm still meeting up with the moms I met there, and our kids are all in the 2ish range now.  They do charge a small amount to cover the cost of the facilitator and speakers, but it ends up being about $2.50 a session.
