Hey everyone! I am still pretty new to all this so I need you all for support
I took prometrium again for the second time since the first time no +PT. I have PCOS. I went in today for my first Clomid check and got my first RX for 'lil white magic pills'. Today is CD#3. I hope this works. Just pray for me and my husband. I will keep you updated. I am to go in and have my progesterone levels checked on Sept 23-25 so keep praying.
Re: First time with Clomid
I agree with Dr. L. Are you being monitored at all? Have you had an HSG done as well as a SA for your DH? If your tubes are blocked or if your DH has a low sperm count, all the clomid in the world won't help.
Also, that progesterone test needs to be done at 7dpo, no matter what cd that is, for the best results.

My OBGYN said to they will just bring me in for Progesterone levels. I asked about this since my frinds RE brought her in like 6 days after to see. I have not been referred to an RE. My DH is getting a SA next week and as far as an HSG they said if the first time doesn't work they would do one then before starting clomid again.

I do not really know when I ovulate so I am not sure. I feel like I need to be monitored more closely.
hi kelly.
clomid sucks, just so you know. i could have texted you this, but it's more fun on here. i had really bad hot flashes and night sweats.
GL though!
she is already on cd3, so it is too late to do one this cycle anyway. clomid is relatively inexpensive; it won't hurt to try it and at least see if she responds.
then at least the cycle is not a total bust.
I think the point they are trying to make is that it is recommended you only take clomid for 6 cycles before the risks outweigh the benefit. Why waste the one in 6 chance when there could be other things affecting why you are having trouble TTC.
Also Kelly, just be warned. I'm about a month ahead in the process than you are with pretty much the same dx and after clomid the first month I never ovulated which meant that I didn't start my period. I had to take the progesterone again.
Also you mentioned PCOS, have they considered whether Metformin would be appropriate in your case?
I am on metformin 2000mg daily.
I underdstand the why waste even I cycle. It was just kind of thrown at me. I knew this is what the plan was before I agreed to take it it just seemd now after talking to everyone there should have been some more steps done prior and being monitored. I will see what happens with this the first time since I already startedit then if no luck I will request a referrel to an RE.
Also my insurance only covers so much and I don't want to waste any of that either by going too early. I know the end result is priceless its just getting there is difficult when the economy is the way it is.
