RE: OB/GYN in Westchase

Hello -

Just moved to the area. I went off BCP in April and haven't gotten my AF yet. I am on CD 37. I wanted to make an appointment with an OB/GYN. Any opinions on Carrollwood Obstetrics & Gynecology? I was looking for a female doctor.

Thanks in advance!

  • I have been going to this office for about 5 years. I love all the doctors here and have never had a problem. There are 6 doctors at this office, 5 female and 1 male. My two favorite female doctors are Dr.Botelho and Dr. Bevilacqua.....they are awesome

Thank you so much for the information. I was on BCP for 16 years. Last month was my first month off, and after 41 days, AF arrived today! So happy about it! LOL. But at least I have a place to go once I get my BFP (one day!) Thanks again.

  • My doctor is Dr Kiera Irving - who is also part of Carrollwood Ob/GYN - I highly recommend the group.  I've been very impressed by their level of care.  Also, their associated with St Joseph's which is important to me since they are a premier Women's Hospital.  :-)

Best of luck to you!  I am also TTC starting this month - :-)

    Hi Amy -

Thanks for the info. I haven't made an appointment yet with any docs. I guess I am waiting until I get a BFP until I make an appointment. I was on the pill for 16 years. I went off in April. Had my first AF last week. We'll see what happens this month. Do you go on any of the other sites on here? I lurk and sometimes post on GP (getting pregnant.) GL to you.

  • Hi. I know you posted this a while ago, but I just saw it and wanted to let you know my thoughts on this group. I went there for a few years and LOVED them as a gyn patient (Dr. Matthews was my primary doc) but as soon as I became an OB patient I felt their quality of service went downhill fast! I became so dissatisfied with thier care, or lack thereof, that I just switched doctors offices at 28 weeks pregnant. I felt so rushed everytime I went in there, I had to repeatedly call for test results weeks after they were done and overall just felt like a number here. I was so dissapointed as I had loved them before becoming pregnant. I actually asked around alot about this group as I was beginning to feel uncomfortable with them and found several other ladies that also switched from them as well. I actually transfered to a doctor who delivers at Mease Countryside as it was my preference to deliver there, but I have several friends who have delivered at St. Joes and went to Tampa Bay Womens Care on Virginia Ave (Dr. Jaeger is apparently awesome). It isnt in Westchase, but isnt too far away. I live in Westchase area and I am now seeing Dr. James Gallagher and cannot say enough great things about him. He is off Tampa Rd in Palm Harbor so only about 10-15 min away, but he delivers at Mease so you may not be interested if you are looking to deliver at St. Joes. Anyways, just wanted to share my experience. Good Luck!

I think this was posted a long time ago, but I wanted to comment as well.  I have been going to Carrollwood OBGyn since I was 17 (12 years) and absolutely LOVE them.  My primary was Dr. Suzanne Roberts, whom I love, but Dr. Matthews delivered my son in February and I have since switched to him.  During pregnancy, you have to see all of the doctors...and I have loved every single one of them.  My favorites though are Roberts, Matthews, Baker and Irvine (all female except Matthews).  Hope this helps! :)
