I don't plan on buying ahead or anything, but now that they slow down in growth, how often do you buy a new size? Once a year, twice a year? She is in 18-24 months now and has been since 8 months old. We got a whole bunch of 2T stuff for her birthday which I think will be good for the late fall/winter. Should I anticipate to not have to buy 3T for a long time?

Re: Clothing size Q
I buy ahead when there are sales, etc. My DD has been spot on with sizes since she was born. She's currently 15 months old, in a 12-18 month size and has been since her 1st bday. She had a few things that carried over from the 6-12 size, but since I store all her old clothes at my mom's and she fit in the new size, I just switched over entirely.
It's going to be hard to say with your DD. I'm always shocked to hear that someone my DD's age is wearing 3T tops or whatever! The sizes are typically supposed to go 12-18, 18-24, 2T would fit 2-3 years and 3T would fit 3-4 years. Once you hit 2T the clothes may or may not fit for the entire year...depends on your kid, but that would be the intention. And then once you hit 3T, like at Gymboree, there is also just a 3. The difference is that the "T" is meant to fit a diaper where the 3 is cut more regular.
Good luck!
