Can you wash carseats cover in the washing machine?

They messed theirs up badly on our long trip and I need to get them clean.

  • I think you can - at least I'm hoping so because I was going to wash ours this weekend. 

    Do you still have the info. book/papers that came with your carseat?  It probably says so in there.

  • We have washed ours and had no problem with it...so my answer is yes.

  • Yes, I have washed ours. I actually washed the straps also, they had been spit up on way too many times on our roadtrip also....just didn't dry anything and they came out fine.

    This.  We just had to wash one of ours and when it came to putting it back together I was glad I had the other as a guide.  I don't know if it was mommy brain or what, but it took me forever!  And now I'm paranoid I didn't do it correctly...

  • Cover, yes -- the straps, NO! Submerging the straps in water changes their elasticity and makes them less effective in the event of a crash.
