3rd Trimester

33 weeks, baby head down.. interesting

I know they can still flip around for a few more weeks, but it is interesting that this baby has already been head down for a while (my OB confirmed it - and it makes sense since the baby kicks me in my ribs all day!).

But interesting to me just b/c my DD didn't flip until 37 weeks... not that I could expect the same from this pregnancy but I was never hung up on the baby flipping during my first pregnancy (ironically, since I was sooo close to getting scheduled for a c-section), and this time I have an early flipper (assuming she stays flipped!).

My friend said she heard once they flip they "usually" stay flipped since the head is heaviest?  Ever hear that?

  • I haven't heard that, but our LO has been head down for a little while now and doesn't seem to be trying to change.

  • one of my pregnancy books said that same thing -- that once they get head down, they stay that way.  kinda nice if it's true!

  • Mine's been head down for 3 or 4 weeks now ... I'm hoping he just stays there.
  • M has been head down for a while now. My OB said she COULD flip, but it's very unlikely.

  • My LO has been head down since about 26 weeks.. apparently she's pretty comfy that way!
  • my son was head down and flipped back up. i was really surprised b/c it didn't seemed like he had that much room and his head was huge lol..i think they all have their own plans

  • My baby has been head down for the last month or so.  I only feel kicks and movement up around my belly button or a bit higher.  The doctor felt him today and he was still head down.  He must like it that way because he has never moved!
  • Yes, they usually stay head down - I don't know if it is because head is heavy or not. It's not a guarantee that your LO will stay head down but it is likely.
  • My LO has been head down since about 30 weeks... confirmed at 30 appt when the dr felt the top of her head during an internal.  She just squirms around now in the head down position.
  • my first ds stayed at 30 weeks and this one feels like he is head down already! He keeps pinching me in between my hips like first ds did.

  • Our LO has been head down for a couple weeks now too. At my appt this week the OB said that the baby will probably stay that way now since space is getting small but in some cases they do turn again. I hope mine does not!

  • My baby has been head down at every appointment since 28 wks.
  • My LO has been head down since 20 weeks. We just had an u/s today and she said his/her head is REAL low and tight against my cervix. She also said that the baby could still move around and they would never say it's for sure/final until 35/36 weeks. I'm pretty sure this one isn't going anywhere though!!
