Please tell me I am not alone... lol...

Rylee still takes one quite a bit.. We were going to wean her to naptime/bedtime only but then time got away from me and it was no longer do-able with Malakai coming... I feel like I have become "that mother" that I used to judge who still let their 17 month old have a paci all the time...

Benjamin still has one. He only uses his in the crib or in the car every once in a while. I'm not so worried about it. I figure he won't use it forever.

Connor still has one. We are *planning* on trying to wean him to only nap/bed time after his first birthday. Hopefully it goes well.

Liev still takes a paci. It's always clipped to him. he's not 17 months old though.

I do and my sister is on my case out it all the time. She uses it in the car and at nap/bedtime. I don't let her walk around the house with it during the day. She gets it occasionally if she is having a really crabby moment. I plan to get rid of it before baby #2 comes, but we are going to be moving next month and I want to wait until that transition. I am also trying to stop bfing her, but she is so not interested. Don't feel bad Rylee is your baby and you will take it away when the time is right

ava still has hers, but since last tuesday, we've been doing ONLY naps and bedtime. the only reason we did this is b/c we did a trial class at the little gym and she was searching for her binky and blankie on the floor a couple times. i usually left them out whenever we would play at home, so she got so used to that...she thought it happened everywhere! once i saw that, i knew i had to do something! she's been ok, it's been a little rough, but not as bad as i thought. now she actually goes to her room when she's ready for her naps and bedtime b/c she knows what's in there. if we had another LO around, i probably wouldn't be as strict though! don't worry about it...it's not hurting anyone

and they're only babies once right??

My dd has one, ha she usually carries around a spare...just in case....ugh. I dread the weaning and I dont want to do it now that the baby is scheduled to arrive in 12 WEEKS!!!!

My daughter still takes one at bedtime. But not during the day (she was never big on the paci like that so we got lucky).

My girlfriend's son is 14 mos and still has one clipped to his shirt most of the time.

Eh, who cares if you get judged. You have two kids and it's survival of the fit at this point. He won't go to Kindergarten with his "bink". Once you are back in your groove with the new baby you can worry about it then.

My DD is 16 months and still gets one at naptime, bedtime and occasionally during the day. I think at 18 months we will cut it down to bedtime only and by 2 years I want to cut it out completely.

I'm also hoping for 2 years to cut it out. Apparently at daycare they don't give it to him except for during nap time and he does fine with it so long as he doesn't see any other baby with one (out of sight out of mind). But at home he plays us like a fiddle and will hunt around the house whining until he finds it. I can't imagine taking him to Target, etc, without it...

Ryan still has one for sleeping but he's becoming more attached to it. We were almost at a point where he didn't seem interested at all, but we missed the window. Like you, with a new baby on the way, there is no way I would take it away now. I just stay to the rules (only during nap/sleep and right after while he wakes up in our bed) so it doesn't get out of hand. He fusses for a bit when I tell him it's time to put it away but he gets over it really quicky.

Maddie

's her paci, but this week we cut down to nap and bed only. Honestly she doesn't even seem to notice. I've given it to her a couple times when she falls and gets a bump to calm her down, but other than that, no issues.

Oliver still uses one. We try to keep it only for the car and crib, but sometimes when he gets tired and upsets he asks for it. We try to keep it hidden. If we kept it out he'd have it in his mouth all day, and we were starting to feel like he wasn't talking as much because of this.

Our DD still uses a pacifier. I feel guilty about it too. She mostly only uses it at naptime and bedtime, but now I am finding that she wants it more b/c she is cutting her eye teeth. We just got rid of the bottle about a month and a half ago so I figured one thing at a time. There is a child at DD's daycare who has his paci in most of the time and he is almost 3. I wonder if that will be my Ella............... Confused

Chase still has one. He uses it at nap time and bed time. He actually started using it more due to teething. I'm not worried about taking it away from him yet. There have been so manyn changes (toddler bed and new baby coming) that he doesn't need another one right now.

mine does. i'm not too concerned about it at this point. i try to keep it just for crib/car, but she finds them sometimes and i give them to her in stores to keep her quiet on occassion.

Jack still has one. At home he only gets it in his crib. I have asked at daycare that they limit it to naptime but sometimes I come in and see him with it (decided not to battle that one).

Ds still uses one. We try to reserve it only for nap and bedtimes but I bring it with us when we go out and use it if he gets really fussy.

Isaac uses "gee gee" (he named it) - at night in his crib. When he gets up we'll say something like "Now go put gee gee in your crib - that's for sleeping" and he runs over and throws it in his crib. I figure eventually he'll get over it since he only uses at night. About 5 months ago we stopped letting him have it during play time, church, etc. - we associated the paci with sleeping so he willingly lets it go during the daytime. I'm not sure if that's a good thing - but it works for now.

Olivia still has hers but only for when she sleeps (naps/nighttime). I don't plan to take it from her any time soon, and I won't make apologies to anyone about it. I hope to take it away sometime early next year, when I can have the "pacifier fairy" or something like that come and take it... right now, she'd never understand that. To me, they are still so young. IMO, once they hit 3, it's definitely time for it to go. Don't beat yourself up and don't worry about what anyone thinks.

i don't think 17 (or 20 in our case) months is that bad. however, daycare did the dirty work for me, and they don't take them there anymore. and at home, it's only at night. i'm okay with that. maybe when they're two, we'll take them away at night.

Everyone has been on my case about it lately. I don't get what the big deal is. He's 16 months old. It brings him comfort and keeps him quiet! Oh yes, did an experiment at a friends house yesterday too. He kept on putting the puzzle pieces in his mouth (cause I was telling him not to) and I put the binky in his mouth and that ended things real fast. Again, I don't get the big deal at this age. I think people just like to judge. So be it! I think it's better than a thumb, but that's my personal opinion!
