Did you have your car seat checked or installed by a car seat technician or do you think you installed it correctly yourself?[Poll]

DH, the engineer, installed it. But I have meant to get at least mine over to a technician. Around here it's a pain, involving waiting lists and only a certain window of time to do it.

There isn't a technician within an hour of me.

And someone told me to go to the police, or the fire department.

Both of them looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.

My carseat is literally so tight it can't move. I need to get it looked at but haven't!

Yes, we have. We installed the infant seats ourselves (before Ben was born) and took them to be inspected. They were in ok, but not 100% correct, so they fixed them. When we got the convertible seats, we took them uninstalled to the place and they put them in for us. Both times, they told us the statistics for the amount people who have them installed improperly and it's staggering. Since I'm no expert, I want the reassurance of someone who is a professional at this.

Lori~ have you checked here? I forget where exacly you are in PA, but if you put in the state, it gives quite a list of places that do this. HTH!
