Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Have you ever stopped liking your husband?

I can't stand to be around him lately. Everything that he does and says annoys me. He is screwing up my nighttime routine with the kids, he does things half-ass or half-fast (whatever the saying is), he makes plans for work, karate, etc. w/o checking to see if I have anything going on, and the list just goes on and on.....He's being very inconsiderate.

I hope that this feeling goes away.

Re: Have you ever stopped liking your husband?

  • All the time, but I'm sure he feels the same way about me.  We've been married for a long time, so I assume that's pretty normal.

  • For sure, but it's always little annoying things like that that build up and then I'm fine.  How long have you guys been married?  We just passed the 5 year mark.  It's usually a result of not communicating as cliche as that sounds.  We get too busy and start making assumptions and get resentful without discussing expectations.  Being tired doesn't help either.  Just sit down and regroup w. him and I'm sure you'll be back on track.

12 years for us.  He probably doen't think he's doing anything wrong.  Just tell him how you feel, he may step it up, it's worth a shot.

  • Yeah, I go through phases when I love him so much, think he is an amazing father, wonderful husband, etc. The next day, I think he is trying to drive me to the point of insanity. I agree with the pp that you need to sit down and have a long conversation. I always feel better after putting all my issues out in the open.

  • Really just venting here. DH is not an emotional, sentimental, talk-it-over type of person. I think that I'm just burnt out with everything right now and just need a break.
  • I can feel some of this pain...love him to death, at the same time.......

Yes.  We had the "you really piss me off" convo last week.  Thankfully, we've said it to each other enough that it usually is said with a kiss.

Getting it off your chest is the way to go.  My only other serious relationship besides J involved mostly silent frustration.  J is completely open about what bothers him, and I've become the same way.

  • i'm sure you know after 15 years: communication is key. tell him how you feel.
