My mouth is on fire and when I drink fluids I get the slosh belly and reflux.
All I want to do is chew ice and I heard it is because one is anemic or low iron. I take my prenats and can't eat a lot of iron rich food because I'm still going through food aversions and nausea (thank God for Zofran)
I guess I can just wait till next month to get it all evaluated or call the nurse till then but I wanted to know if anyone else is craving ice chewing?
Re: Late 2nd Trimers - - Chewing Ice - anyone craving this?

Trying again..
I have been chewing it like crazy.....I won't be worried about Pica until I start craving dirt and chalk...lol! I was slightly anemic with my daughter, so I am sure I have some anemia this time around. Go with Slow Fe, it is soooo much easier on the system if you have to take an iron supplement. GL!
Ditto this!
Right as I was reading this I was cracking down on some ice! I have been chewing ice...not craving just when I am not hungry and want something to much on. If that makes any sense.
I was low on iron a couple of visits last pregancy but so far have been ok with my iron with this one.
It's called PICA, (cravings for items that aren't food). Ice typically = an Iron Deficiancy. I would call them and let the office know. You could probably just get a CBC drawn and know the next day.
There is liquid iron sup and they can do shots if it's really that bad (normally they won't because it can discolor skin). If you are anemic it's better to have it looked as sooner then later.
This.
That said, while I am not craving ice per se, I do enjoy it in my drinks because it seems like nothing can be cold enough for me!
