Re: mechanicsburg/camp hill daycares?

  • My hubby and I toured 'The Children's Garden' in Shiremanstown. It wasn't a good fit for us but we have heard really good things about it. Their number is 761-5121.

We actually had a hard time finding anything in Camp Hill. We ultimately went with U-Gro in Hbg. They are fabulous!!!

  • My son attends Kidz Quarterz at the Camp Hill/Lemoyne location.  I would recommend it.

  • We go to Children's Family Center at Messiah Village. Although I've heard varying reports about the waiting list, so if that location might work for you, call quickly to set up a tour.
  • We're happy with The Children's Garden in Shiremanstown.
    Good luck with your search!

  • If either you or your husband work on the Navy Base the daycare on the base is exceptional and the price is based on your income with the top being $262/bi-weekly.

  • Spunkie - is the $262 every TWO weeks?  If so,  that is fantastic!  My husband works on the base.  We don't need daycare now, but that is great.
  • Sara that is correct.  We got Gunnar in when he was 8 months old and there is always a waiting list for the infant room.  They now have 2 infant rooms so they can have a total of 16 infants and they still have a waiting list.  I love that he is so close.  I work in bldg 307, and he is exactly 1 mile from my office door.  They are fantastic and they do so much with the kids, I have never had any complaints.

  • I didn't know you worked at the Navy base.  I'll have to ask my husband what building he works in.
  • If i can make a suggestion. Be careful with Kindercare. I use to work for one and at times they more "corporate" then anything else. They do whats needed to make the money come ine even if that means over crowding the rooms. It may be different at different ones and may have gotten better since i worked at one but i worked at one In HBG
