Hi SD Moms - can you tell about La Costa?

Hi there - dropping in from NorCal ;-)

It's our 5 year anniversary next weekend and I was thinking about bringing DS down there and staying at La Costa for a couple days. I'm actually on bedrest this week and next so I was looking for something where we could all have fun and lounge around, but still be memorable for our anniversary. My ILs are going out of town so we'll have DS no matter what.

So if anyone is familiar - would you recommend? I was looking at their spa packages and they do have a maternity one with a massage / facial / lunch. I was thinking of renting a cabana so DH and DS could hang out and have a "home base" while I was at the spa.

It claims to be pretty family friendly as well as nice. How about the food? Depending on how I'm doing we may take an extra day and do the zoo or Legoland but if not we'll probably be at the hotel the entire time. Do you think this is a good idea?

    I live in La Costa and I love it. ?The La Costa Resort is nice and so is the Four Seasons, they are right down the street from each other (I live right in between them).

    Some mellow (pelvic rest safe) places to check out VERY close by would be:

    Swami's Meditation Garden (my favorite place in the world)

    Downtown Carlsbad & Downtown Encinitas?

    The Fourm (2 min from LC Resort, upscale shopping center w/ Anthropologie, Free People, Z Gallerie, ect.. fountians & koi pond)

    The Beach (it's everywhere)?

    Other cool places if you get off bed rest:

    La Jolla -snorkeling, kayaking, beach

    Wild Animal Park

    Legoland

    San Diego Zoo

    ?

    I used to work at La Costa Resort and Spa, in the woman's spa. It's the perfect place for a relaxing vacation, and I would TOTALLY suggest their prenatal massage. They have a daycare there that is available for guests that has all kinds of activities to keep LO occupied if you and DH want some alone time. Also, the food is AMAZING! Enjoy your stay!
