I was just diagnosed with GD on Monday, had my class yesterday and I am supposed to be testing my blood today (figures I forgot the thing at home).
Anyways, my manager knows about the situation and knows that I cannot have any sweets. The other manager brought in donuts and said to have some. I told him I couldn't have any sweets, told him the situation, but said thanks and I wished I could have one. What do they do??
They each go and get a donut and eat it right in front of me telling me how good they are. And saying stuff like you don't know what your missing. These are really good... blaa blaa blaa.
I found that extremely rude! They know that I have a sweet tooth and to intentionally rub it in my face that I cannot have the chocolatey goodness that is right in front of me is just mean.
Sorry. I had to vent. Nice first morning on the GD diet huh?
Re: co-worker vent- GD related
My co-workers will offer me food (donuts or chips) and when I say "thanks, but I can't" they love to say "But the baby wants some!"
Umm, STFU! I'll tell YOU what the baby does and does not want.
Ugh, it's not like I haven't told them I have GD.

Well, last Monday one of my DOCTORS (the one I can't stand) came into my appointment eating a donut!!!! I couldn't believe it!! She knows that I have GD and everything. Plus, even if I didn't, it still would have been rude to eat DURING my appointment. I was so upset! She even kept telling me how good the donut was and that she shouldn't be eating it because she was a borderline diabetic herself. What class!!
