Blended Families

Oh and by the way....it's a girl.

DH and I had a very loooong day yesterday but we ended it with an ultrasound. We're having a girl.  DH questioned the accuracy and the technician laughed and said that she couldn't ask for a better picture - she's pretty darn sure it's a girl.  DH went a little pale, but he's recovered and already making plans for his baby girl.

FOUR girls. Wow.

SD managed to tell me congratulations and she was happy for us, looking forward to being a big sister. I could tell though she didn't mean it. There was a distinct tone to it that she was disappointed. She's not the baby girl anymore.

So now I have to think up girl names...and see if my chiropractor will give me a free adjustment for his wrong guess!  LOL! Boy is he going to be disappointed.

Seriously, people. If your faith in humanity is destroyed because your parents told you there was a Santa Claus and as it turns out there is no Santa Claus, you are an ignorant, hypersensitive cry baby with absolutely zero perspective. - UnderwaterRhymes
  • Congrats! I found out I was having my 3rd girl as well (4th girl if you count SD) and I cried like a baby on the table. Even though I'm preparing for a girl and picking out girl names, I'm still in denial. I was so sure it was a boy. LOL

  • I was pretty sure it was a boy too, but happy with a girl too. I come from a large family with strong, independent women and I'm proud to add to that.

We discussed Grace or Gracie.  I have a grandmother with a very unusual name similar to mine that I'd like to use because her nickname, was my name and I was "sort of" named after her.  But DH doesn't like it.  Don't blame him, but I thought I'd consider a version of it.  I'm big into traditional names with family and heritage significance so we're going to research. We'll see what comes up.

  • Yay!!!!!!   How awesome!!  you get to buy all the girl frilly stuff!  Big Smile

Hey let us know what names you're tossing around - we'll help you narrow it down.  Congratulations again!!!!

  • That is so awesome, huge congrats!

Funny, we're considering Grace as a middle name. It's in the top 2 on our list.

  • Congrats!  I know my SD told us she did not want a girl when we were PG with DS and she was thrilled it was a boy and not a girl and I know she is not happy that we had DD.  Ugh!  Have fun picking out names and you have to post a name poll for us.  Oh, and I still need to PM you back!
