for his dairy allergy. He hasn't been able to eat ANYTHING dairy without reacting.
Anyone else's lo allergic to dairy?
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
We went through testing for an allergy to dairy and it came back negative. The allergist told us, even though there is no allergy does not mean there cannot be an intolerance. My DS did just fine with the testing. It was quick and as far as he was concerned painless. Pedi just took DS off whole milk today and put him on Lactaid b/c we are still having problems with milk. I was hoping it was just a phase, but seems it is not for us. Good luck. If you want to know more about the testing, page me
We saw an allergist very early on for DD's dairy allergy and she was put on EleCare formula. Now I'm slowing introducing soy formula and she's been OK so far.
Actual allergy testing where they inject stuff with a needle and see if they react? Just wondering because I was told DD is too young for allergy testing...
Daughter born July 2008; Daughter born March 2010
Son born August 2011

DS was, but we never got him tested. Our pedi never suggested it because it was obvious which foods he was reacting to. We found out at about a year old, and after a couple of months we started him on soy milk instead. A few months after that we switched to goat's milk and he did fine on that and only in the last couple months he's been on cow's milk. Our pedi said he would probably grow out of it, and he did. We haven't had any problems since he was about a year old.
We were told that DS had a milk protein allergy when he was 5.5 months old so we switched him to Alimentum and he did wonderfully. We are now slowly introducing dairy products to him. We are on yogurt and he seems to be doing okay, but it is very difficult to tell with my DS. We will start soy Go-and-Grow formula within the next two weeks and hopefully go to real milk around 18 months if he tolerates everything okay. Anyways, my pedi now thinks that it is an intolerance and not an allergy. Also, he has not been tested.

We have done it 4 times, too. We test for new stuff every 2 months.
She is not too young, but there is some controversy. Some experts say that a negative reaction in an infant or toddler means only that they are not allergic yet, not that they will never be allergic.
Re: ugh, brighton has to see an allergist
we have a minor issue that doc doesnt think is allergy but he still has issues when I eat dairy(still breast feeding)
Doc thinks he'll out grow it by a year...
Yes, DD had it done at about 2 months.
