AW: My daddy's coming to see me!!!
Back in August of last year, DH and I moved to Indiana. Not a fan, not happy about it, but whatever. I am from Washington State and all my family (except for my younger brother who is in the Air Force) still lives there. This is the first grandchild for them and I really wanted them to be able to be here when our little sea monkey is born. Well, it wasn't going to be a problem for my mom to be here, she's a SAHM of a 17 year old and a 5 year old (my sibs are the BEST!!). My dad, on the other hand, works his butt off and just signed a new contract with the state and is supposed to start three days before my due date, so he wasn't going to be able to be here. I was really sad about it because my dad and I are REALLY close and I really wanted him to be here for his first grandson's appearance. But, I understand and I want my family to come first for him. He'll be able to see Atreyu at Christmas.
I go to check my email a couple minutes ago and there's an email from him with the heading of "Travel Plans." I open it, and it's the itenerary (sp?) of my mom's flights and hotel and all that. Under that, there's my dad's name with all the same info!! He talked to the people in charge of his contract and renegotiated his start date for two weeks after my due date! I am SOOOO excited and completely bawling here at my laptop about it. YAY!!
