Boob update (I am relieved!)

I finally had the mammography today. The first time I went they scheduled me for the wrong type so I had to come back today and do the right type of one.

Turns out it was just a bunch of cysts. I have 4 or 5 of them. Some of them where very small so it was hard to tell if they where a cyst or not. They will supposedly just go away but vitamine E should help.

I really appriciated all your kind words of support during this very stressful time I just went through. It meant a lot to me! Thank you!

I've been through this. I, too, have a few cysts. It's a scary situation to be in, especially if they run a biopsy. I'm glad to hear that all is well. Praise God!

I'm glad it's only cysts!! I have about 8 or 9 (I forget, and some of them I can't even feel they're so deep) and my Dr. isn't worried about them. I had 3 removed in Jan '08, and these are all new ones since then! Grrr. I've laid off all caffeine as that can be a cause, and I've also heard that Vit. E can help. They're calling mine Fibroadenomas based on my history (the other 3 that were removed and biopsied) and appearance on u/s.

Thank you all so much. I couldn't believe there where so many of them! I am relieved to know all is well, but man, mammograms hurt like crazy and the tech lady had not sympathy as she squeezed my boob in that torturous machine of hers! My boob still hurts from it all!

They told me that I had a fibrocysytic condition. Is that the same thing? I must admit I am lacking in this area of knowledge!

I get cysts but usually they are in my ears, so this was different for me.

Yes I think so. They are harmless, just annoying. I don't have specific information for you, I just googled Fibrocyctic Breast Disease and Fibroadenomas last year after my biopsies. I am annoyed that I have so many new ones since then. Grrr.

That is great, wonderful news. You must be so incredibly relieved. I hope the vitamin E helps for you - did they give you any indication how long it would take for it to kick in and reduce the cysts?
