3rd Trimester

Bugaboo vs. BOB Stroller

I am a personal chef and have a client that has offered to buy us our stroller.  We wanted the BOB Revolution stroller, however my client keeps suggesting the Bugaboo.  I have no idea if the Bugaboo is actually better, or if it is all hype.  Does anyone have experience with either stroller?  It's really not about getting the most expensive stroller, as it is about getting the most functional stroller.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Bugaboo vs. BOB Stroller

  • Never used a Bugaboo.... but I have a BOB and I LOVE IT!!!!!! I'm actually hoping to get the duallie for the arrival of baby #2!
  • Loading the player...
  • I dont have either.. but everyone I see with BOB strollers RAVES about them....
  • I have a friend who has both - the bugaboo for general use and the Bob for jogging/hiking. She usually uses the bugaboo for shopping/errands/coffee with friends.

  • I think they're both good, but serve different purposes. The BOB is supposed to be great for jogging, the Bugaboo for general use.

  • Love love love love my bugaboo!

The biggest difference is function.  If you want to jog then the BOB is the better stroller.  For general "stroller" needs that dont include working out/hiking I would highly reccommend the Bugaboo.

I was a nanny for a few years and we had both and I found that the ease and ability to break down the bugaboo made it my favorite.  We bought one a few weeks ago and I cant wait to put LO in the cute bassinet attachment!!!

  • I don't think the Bugaboo is a jogging stroller. If you foresee yourself ever wanting to jog/run with the baby, I would get the BOB. The only other thing to consider - I don't think you can initially stroll an infant in a BOB. They're meant for babies 6 months+. Until then, you can use it like a travel system and latch in your car seat, or buy a snap and go for the first couple of months.
  • I am in the process of making the same decision.  My husband, who is a former engineer and does extensive research whenever we buy anything is completely sold on the BOB, specifically over the Bugaboo.

I just wanted a Bugaboo b/c I see so many people with them and hear that they are "the best".  I think I felt a bit pressured to get one . . . but he has finally convinced me that it doesn't make sense and the BOB is the way to go.

From a durability perspective, BOB is certainly better, especially if you plan to use it on rough terrain -- also the Bugaboo has to be taken apart into two pieces to transport it.

I also have friends who rave about their BOBs.

We purchased and installed the infant seat attachment, so the Graco car seat fits on it and it can be used from birth on.

  • I love, love my BOB. It was my second stroller... I have the Peg Perego travel system too. I haven't used a Bugaboo though. We bought the infant seat attachment for our Peg car seat to use with the BOB this time.

I'm sure they are both great strollers and you can't go wrong either way. I think the BOB is really easy to use and I use it for everything... not just jogging, etc. It's great at the mall as well as the zoo!

  • I love our Bugaboo.  I love that you can have the baby face you or look out.  That it is easy to recline.  It has a car seat adapter that basically turns it into a snap and go which is great for airline travel the first 6-9 months.  You can also reverse the handle bar so you can go over more rugged terrain (ie pot holes in the city).  It is narrow and easy to steer in stores and restaurants.  I could go on and on.  It is much more versatile than the BOB and has held up perfectly over the last 2.5 years.

And the best part is there is a riding board for toddlers so this will be the only stroller we ever own.

I like the BOB but I am very happy we got the Bugaboo instead.

  • That's a very generous gift!

We got the Bugaboo and absolutely love it.

  • we have the bob and love it! we have the double one and have the car seat adapter for one side and our graco seat snaps right on....love it love it!! the double one even fits through most doors so the single one is not too big at all to use for everyday.
  • We have the bugaboo cameleon and cannot wait to start using it.  We're not planning to jog w/it so...

This is exactly what DH and I decided to do - BOB with infant carseat adapter for neighborhood walks and Peg Perego Pliko P3 travel system for "general purpose" needs.  My Peg Perego Primo Viaggio carseat snaps into both.  Eventually we'll get a Maclaren for more travel type use.

It really depends a lot on your particular stroller needs.  GL!

    Good luck!
