I just came back from one of my many appts with the doctor.
She gave me a prescription for Prometrium and Metformin.
I've been reading some horror stories about the Prometrium online. Anyone here like to share theirs? Or, the more happy stories, preferably?
Re: Has anyone here ever taken Prometrium?
I haven't heard horror stories about Prometrium....and didn't really have problems when I took it. My symptoms were sore, enlarged boobs, tired, and a bit more hungry than normal. But, it wasn't too bad and did its job of bringing on AF.
Good luck!
It makes me really sleepy, so I take it right before bed.
It can take up to 14 days after the last pill for you to start bleeding, so don't worry until that point.
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
Progesterone in general makes me pretty fatigued (at times) and tends to make my facial break outs more nuts than they ever were in high school.
Even with PCOS... I normally only get one significant blemish at a time, usually the kind that deep set into your skin. On the progesterone... I get crazy red splotches that turn into your standard pimple, blackheads, the whole 9. It like goes from my temples, down my jaw, around my chin, skips around both cheeks, and back up to my other temple. Oddly, I very rarely get acne on my forehead. ::shrugs::
So beware. I just got a BFN and stopped my Progesterone suppositories about 5 days ago. Five days ago my face was a nightmare. Today and yesterday, I haven't had to wear any make up and it's all cleared up rather nicely.
A little delayed response here... and I took provera, but in general the same thing. I didn't have any major issues when I took it other then fatigue. Until about a week after I finished the pill. I thought I was going to claw my skin off because I broke out in a rash. In the weirdest places . my butt, lower legs and face. But that was an allergic reaction. Oh and it took 14 days before AF showed up. So don't freak out about those horror stories. Just remember there are horror stories about each step of this sucky process if you read enough. Hang in there!
