To be fair, I think she's had a rough time getting pregnant in general. I remember reading the stories.

That said, 67 is too old to be makin babies.

I think they went through fertility treatments with the first child. His sperm was frozen in order for him to have more. If I remember reading this correctly.

She and her husband have been trying for a long time, almost since the birth of thier first son 8 years ago...I would think we would all understand that stuggle...I'm excited for her, she wanted this so bad and had to have the assistance of a team of doctors in NY.

i like her too, maybe my statement sounded harsh i meant it more like everyday i go to people another celeb is KU and with babies on the brain i am like jealous

in a good way....but its great for them especially since they were a couple who were trying for a long time!

eeh...I wouldn't have a kid at 67 - but keep in mind that any one of us could die at any time. There's no guarantees that our husbands (who are mostly in the 20s-40s range) will be here any longer than that dude who is 67.

Exactly. My dh had open heart surgery 5 years ago for an aneurysm that could have killed him. He was only 25.

I agree. My father died at age 59. There are no guarantees.

I know she tried long and hard to have her first, and needed fertility help with this one too. Good for her for going for what she wants. She will be able to provide for them and love them. Her husband is old but as long as the kids are loved that's all any child can hope for. No child is guaranteed a certain number of years with their parent and so long as the time they are together is filled with love and happiness who are we to judge.

I was just reading that article. I wasn't shocked at all by their ages, it was IVF. I was shocked that they announced she's due in May, so she's like a minute pregnant. I would have expected them to wait until she was in 2nd tri - that's the part that has me shocked.

heather: I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that with your DH. We didn't have the same exact situation, but I know how hard it is to see a husband in a life threatening condition. Congrats to both of you on surviving that, and now getting ready to welcome a LO to your family. Big Smile

OP: I agree with this! While I'm not crazy about Celine, kudos to her and Rene for not giving up. You never know when your time on earth will be over.

I kinda feel bad that some of the young starlets getting KU are stealing the others' thunder, especially if the others have struggled to get pregnant for a while. ?I like Celine and her music. ? Hope her pregnancy goes well!
