i had one yesterday, at 5w6d...but that was only because i didn't know my LMP date. i weaned DS and then got pg before getting AF, so the OB just did one to see how far along i was.
My dr. typically doesn't do them until the NT scan. But, I truly didn't believe that I was pregnant. The dr. must've seen the look on my face -- utter disbelief. We'd been trying -- it wasn't that. I just didn't have a grip on it yet. I think he knew I wasn't going to believe it until I saw it. So, he did a very quick one at 8 weeks.
I saw a RE because of IF issues, We had our first u/s at 6 weeks, 5 days. The second at 8 weeks and the third at 9 (first appoinment with OB after being released from RE). We have our NT scan scheduled at 12 weeks 1 day and our "big" u/s is around 18 weeks (on 10/15).
I got the first 2 only because I was seeing a RE other than the NT scan and the big u/s we aren't getting any more.
6 weeks. They do an u/s to measure the baby's growth and that's when I expect to get my true edd. I am also high risk though, as I was with my last pg.
Mine is at my first appt at 8 weeks. I called my doc this morning to ask if they did an u/s then, and to my relief they do! Just call your doc and ask.
My first appt is also next week on the 27th. I will be 7.5 weeks. My OB is planning on doing an ultrasound at that time. I would probably call the drs office and see if they are planning on doing one or not. I would feel so bad if DH was not there for our first u/s.
My doctor's office doesn't do an u/s until 20 weeks. However, I'm going to request one sooner since I don't know how far along I am due to irregular cycles.
Our first was at 6 and a half weeks. We just had another last night at 10 and a half. Our dr office has their own machine, I guess I'll get one at every appt?
Our NT scan is next Thursday. I'm so excited to see the baby on a newer advanced ultrasound!
My doc doesn't offer an early ultrasound unless there is a special reason (which may be what the office means when they say it will be decided when you get there). I got an early one b/c I was just off b/c and had no idea on dates. If you are bleeding, my doc will offer one. If you have fairly regular cycles, they will give you a due dated based on your LMP and you have to wait until the NT scan (if you opt for that) or the 20 anatomy scan for an ultrasound. Also, my insurance will not cover an early ultrasound unless there is a special reason. My doc's office doesn't have ultrasound equipment in-house, so even if one is ordered, I have to make a separate appointment at an ultrasound clinic down the road.

Re: When is/was your first ultrasound?
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
I guess I should call and ask then.
Dave will want to be there if they decide to do one.
Mine will not be until my big u/s at 18 weeks. I will not be getting one before then.
When I had my first DD I only got one at 8 weeks due to heavy spotting. Otherwise it was not going to be until 20w.
7 weeks 1 day.
THey wanted me to come in at 10 weeks but I begged them to let me come in early.
I got the first 2 only because I was seeing a RE other than the NT scan and the big u/s we aren't getting any more.
My first ultrasound will be my second appointment around 9 weeks.
LOL!
Well fat lot of help that was.

I had my first u/s yesterday at 8 weeks 2 days. We did it for several reasons
1) to make sure it wasn't an etopic pregnancy (runs in my family)
2) to check the date (it was exactly what I had expected, since I went through fertility treatments and knew the exact date they made me ovulate)
3) to see if there was twins or not (it's only one)
I started to cry when I saw the heartbeat.
It took us 12 years to get pregnant.
I was really glad DH was there to share in the experience with me.
Congrats LISA!
12 years... I can't even begin to imagine.
Liam is 5!
