Hi I am new to the TTC boards. DH and I are on our 4 month of trying I am not charting or anything as DH just wanted to go with the flow. ( I am a little anal and I think he thought if I started charting I might show up at his job and shove him in a broom closet and make him do the baby dance) so I just keep an eye on my cervical changes and use an online ovulation calandar based on my 28 day cycle.
I am three days late which is very unusual for me. I could tell you almost to the hour when AF would come to visit before my IUS and have gone back to a 28 day cycle since my first full cycle after IUS was removed. POAS yesterday but not until lunch time when I could run out to grab one and the test was negative. Still showing no signs of AF coming for her visit and am actually showing some signs of pregnancy. I want to take another test first thing in the morning tomorrow morning as they say the is when I will have the most hCG in my system. Now for the stupid question, I can not make it through the night without going to the bathroom I usually get up around 2.30-3am should I test then (I usally stumble to the bathroom half a sleep but if I had a test ready I could probably manage) or test when I normally get up in the morning? I know this probably sounds trivial but I just want to know one way or the other. TIA
Re: New to Boards and Stupid Question
Just hold it for 4 hours, then test.
Also, just because all the other cycles were perfect doesn't mean this one is. Keep testing until AF. No AF in 60 days, call the doctor.
Pee whenever you want.
If you're pregnant, you'll eventually make enough hcg to trigger a positive test no matter what. "They" say that holding for four hours is the same as first morning urine.
Now let's address this whole 28 day regular cycle thing.
Even if it's unusual for you to be a few days "late", please know that it is completely normal. Temping is really the only way to know if you are actually late. Maybe you can use ovulation tests as a compromise?
I don't know what IUS is, but is it hormonal birth control? When did you have it removed? You can expect your body to take a while to regulate after discontinuing hormonal birth control, even if you've had several 28 days cycles already.
Good luck!
