beware of those target shopping carts that lock halfway across the parking lot.
and NEVER let your kids ride in the baskets of those carts outside of the store.
Isabelle flipped over the front of the cart landing forehead first on the hard pavement this afternoon after the cart we were pushing back to the store locked up on us less than 3 feet from the upramp to the sidewalk we were pushing it to.
there was no signage that this is where the carts lock, it just suddenly stopped.
but it is my fault (worst mommy of the year feelings inserted here!!!!!!!!) that she was not in the seat in the cart.
We just spent 4 hours in the ER, she has a horrible flat spot on her head and a monster strawberry filled with scratches and blood on it, but after 2 seperate CAT scans (that was fun), she's fine and cleared for the evening. we check back in with our Pedi in 2 days.
it's been a hell of a day. I feel like I could have prevented this 100 times over, but I decided not to fight her today and let her ride in the basket, she was holding on the whole time. but the sudden stop caused my heart to stop as I watched her fall. it was awful.
be careful mommies. that's all I can say. be careful.

What an awful thing to happen. I'm so sorry she got hurt. Hope she feels better soon!
Don't beat yourself up. ?It could have happened to anyone. ?There have been many times I have let Avery ride in the basket to make the trip more pleasant for all involved.
I am glad she is ok. ?Have some wine. ?After 2 cat scans, I imagine you need it.

I forgot to mention, we also chipped a front tooth.
ugh.
what a day.
I'm going to bed.
Oh my goodness! Poor baby and poor mommy! I hope she feels better soon. And don't beat yourself up, it was an accident.
I have never, ever heard of this. The carts lock? Sheesh, I let Mia ride in the big part all the time and Micah rides in the seat part. It's a normal part of shopping for us. Mia walks too slowly.
oh wow that's so scary! That is the only place in the cart that Maddie will sit in and I had no idea stores made their carts lock like that.
I hope she recovers quickly and you are NOT a bad mommy!
Sounds scary, I'm glad she's ok.
I also have never heard of carts that lock up like that, good to know though. Now I'll have to watch out for that. Is Target the only one? And just a random question, why would they do that anyway?
