How do I convince my daughter that being awake from 9:30am to 1pm

is way more better than 9:30 pm to 1 am?

  • Good luck with that.  My DS is still awake but he slept most of the day today.  He had projectile vomit this morning and had to go to the doc and we upped his Zantac so he's had a rough day.  I expected this tonight.

LOL....okay just teasing...I am the grammar police tonight.

I had that same conversation with my DS for quite awhile before he finally listened.

Sorry, it's a a joke phrase in our family. Say it with a Hawaiian accent and I promise it'll make you giggle ;o)

  • It will happen :)

What I did to set his day's and night's straight was play, talk and live a "normal" life during the day. At night keep it very quiet and not a lot of talking. I also tried a bed time routine of bath, lotion, bottle and rocking and at 2 months it finally stuck!

I know it sucks, we have all been there :(

LOL okay...at least you were doing it on purpose!!!  There are a lot of people on here who probably don't know why that was wrong.  Sometimes you just have to ::headdesk:: people, you know? :0)

  • I understand completely and would probably have thought the same :o)
  • We seem to have a different problem. DS wants to fall asleep at 8pm and wake up at 1 or 2. Then not sleep well the rest of the night. Which I find harder because I don't go to bed until about 11 myself. So we've been trying to keep him more awake from 7-10ish, and try to get a "schedule" of bath time, bottle, rocking like one of the PP's said. I've also found that the better DS naps and sleeps during the day, the better he will sleep at night. HTH.
