imo i love bru's line kola baby thermal blankets. i bought/recieved dozens of blankets and i loved these best to swaddle. diaper champ/giene waste of money i returned it and just bout a regular step can (we take out the trash every night) . oh and my boppy i love that thing
swing, moby, ergo, table next to glider, small light for night feeding, breast pump, ikea komplement drawer organizers, prefer my brestfriend to theboppy but use boppy for other things, skip hop duo and pronto, changing pad with mobile over it, cloth diapers to use as burp cloths, little baby washcloths
Swaddle blankets, swing, gerber plain white cloth diapers we use for burp cloths (I have a spitter-upper!) and a boppy. Oh- and a sponge thingy for the sink to bathe him. (we don't have any room in our house for anything bigger, found at target)
Could do without: Receiving , lotion/soaps anything with the word baby or had a smell we use dove sensitive bar soap b/c of his skin. (I wish I could use J&J, hopefully soon the Aveno)
Cant live without her swing, swaddlme blankets, and bottle drying rack. Oh, and a nice basket set to put diaper supplies in for different rooms of the house!
Wish I had not invested in a bottle warmer or play mat.
We can not live without our swaddleme blankets. They are the best. We have about four of them, and just rotate them through the wash. They are AWESOME!!!
Love: Boppy, wipes warmer (she screams over cold wipes), pack-n-play (not now, but first couple weeks), rocking chair (huge necessity for me), bouncy seat, swaddle blankets, and the digital monitor (most dependent on this)
Could live w/out: Bjorn (will prob use more later on, but now she isn't a fan), a million onsies, bibs (I only use burp cloths now), tons on toiletries (a bath twice a week doesn't need 5 different soaps!)
Love: bouncer, sleep sacks, rocker/recliner, bottle drying rack, small clock/CD player
Waste: DItto on the fancy clothes...at least when they're really young, you'll be wanting to keep it simple. I have cute little dresses DD never even wore in the 0-3 month size because we had no real occasions to wear them!
Pack 'n play...depending on what you're using it for, could be a waste. At very least don't spend a lot on a fancy one unless baby is going to sleep in it all the time.
Re: What can't you live without?
love:
wipe warmer
basket to hold diapers under changing table
safety pins - to pair socks and keep bloomers w/ dresses
waste:
diaper champ - i havent had bags in it in 2 mo!!
rocking chair - never, ever fed L in it or sat in it w/ her
Love:
Boppy pillow, basket for diaper changing stuff, SwaddleMe blankets
Could live without:
Diaper Genie, wipe warmer, bottle warmer (we just use a cup of hot water)
I actually love the wipe warmer but you do have to pour about a cup of water in each time you refill the wipes or else they get dried out!
other things I need-
night light
swing
little baskets (to organize drawers, etc.)
bigger baskets (for blankets, stuffed animals, etc)
Love:
PnP, bouncer, SwaddleMe blankets, cloth diapers (we use them for burp cloths), diaper caddy for main level diaper changes, snap n go
Could live without
Swing-DS doesn't like it but luckily we borrowed it from a friend so we didn't waste any money on it.
Moby-just never use it (I found it uncomfortable) but it was a gift so thankfully we're not out any money
