Ava's most recent blog post made me LOL because I too am now "one of them". Like her I was a wild child, scared the crap out of my parents by climbing onto the roof quite a few times and doing other stupid dangerous things.
So who is with us? How many wild children turned protective mommies do we have on this board?
ETA: I do not mean "protective mommies" as a bad thing. So please don't take it that way.

Yep.
1. I used to balcony hop from one balcony to the other... on the 5th floor of our building.
2. I almost burned down our house... twice! The last time I short-circuited the whole place.
3. I've had my stomach pumped 3 times for eating things I shouldn't have
4. I flipped a car the very first time I drove it
should I go on?

nope not a wild child at all !
If anything I was a wild 21 year old and even then I was pretty tame !
I was every parents worst nightmare...a crazy independent and daaring little girl..and a really really bad pre-teen and teen. Like bad enough I really wonder if all we went thru was karma for what I out my family thru..
My DH was a wild teen too!

Ditto this. I was the exact same way.
Also a scaredy cat/ teacher's pet kind of child here. My brother would say I was a Miss Perfect (um, duh!).
Now in my 20's... well, that's a whole different type of wild child...
ETA: I totally get what you mean by "protective mom" not in a bad way at all- but I would say I am a less "protective mom". Not that I let him play in traffic or anything, of course, but I am pretty comfortable with him exploring his surroundings, finding out cause and effect, checking out the world. i think I give him a LOT of freedom in that regard.
Funny- I never wondered if that had a correlation to how I was as a child- maybe it does?

I was a super "good girl" as a child but as I got older and more independent, I had my wild and experiemental days. esepcially in college, oh gawd. I had my limits and I always got good grades, but I managed quite a bit of debauchery along the way. It didn't end there but it calmed down. DH was a wild child. HIs parents were baffled by him, but he turned out good!
Ava man, you are scaring me!!
