Play group/ Mommy Groups

First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Christina, and my daughters name is Brooke. She is 2 months old. We live in Palo Alto, and have been looking for some social groups to get out, etc. Any suggestions?

  • Welcome!  I'm not in Palo Alto but wanted to say "hi" and "welcome"!

  • Welcome!!  I'm Jenn, and my son Miles is 3.5 months old.  We're moving to Mountain View soon, so I'll keep my eyes on this post to see what folks say.  Perhaps our paths will cross.  :)
  • I'm in Mountain View (literally just a block from Palo Alto).

Actually, my mom's group just closed down (it was a Yahoo group and the 'owner' of the group couldn't keep it going anymore due to time issues) but we have a nice group of ladies that all try to do things together.

My son is 3 1/2 but if you want to chat or share mom stuff, I'd be happy to do so. baidra at pacbell dot net

Also, check out PAMP (Palo Alto Menlo Park Mother's Club). https://www.bigtent.com/groups/pamp/

Another favorite resource of mine in Palo Alto is Parent's Place on Channing: https://www.parentsplaceonline.org/peninsula. They are run by Jewish Family Services but are completely secular. They have great classes for baby and parents.

Hope that helps, you'll find lots of resources around.

  • Day One in Palo Alto is awesome.  They have new parent groups organized by age of the baby (0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12).  I have met some amazing moms through the groups--women that will be lifelong friends.

  • Thanks so much everyone.
  • I don't live in that area but wanted to say welcome to the board.
  • You can try LAS MADRES.  They are organized by city and have playgroups by the year of your childs birth. I'm a member of LAS MADRES mountain view 2008. They offer playdates, music classes and get togethers.

  • Hi Christina :  )

I have had good luck meeting wonderful moms in the palo alto/menlo park area. Stanford new parents group is great, its through LPCH. Also you could join the palo alto/menlo park moms group. Cafe barrone has a meet up on mondays I think. When Logan was your daughters age I walked the stanford mall a lot, and met other moms. Hang out at day one too!

  • I just wanted to welcome you to the board! Your daughter is super cute :)

I don't live in PA but I had great luck at the Day One in my area. I hope yours is as good as mine was to me!

  • We have been to Day One. I love it. I was just wondering what our other options were! Thanks everyone!
