Where to find pediatric plastic surgeon?

It is not an emergency or anything bad. S was born with a small skin tag in front of her left ear. My pedi suggests removing it around 1 because sometimes they can suddenly start to grow larger if they get infected and leave a large scar. Since it is on her face, I was thinking I should get a plastic surgeon to look at it instead of letting the pedi tie it off. What do you think? I am being over zealous. Also where would I find a surgeon that handles babies?

I have been totally MIA lately because our home computer broke, my hubby travels for work with the laptop and I can't nest from work. Feel like I am so out of the loop.

I'd check with CHoP -- it's one of the best children's hospitals in the USA, and it's in your backyard. They will know of someone.

Thanks! I was just wondering how to ask around to see who is the best doc without coming off like some psycho momma. I don't want to be vain, but it is her face. I figured CHoP or an NYC hospital would be best.

I don't have a recommendation but I think going with a plastic surgeon is the right thing to do. I had a mole removed from my face 4 years ago and I opted for a plastic surgeon as opposed to my dermo. I had the mole since I was pretty young but it was starting to change a bit. I am SO glad a plastic surgeon did it because you can't even see the scar (and you haven't been able to see it for a long time) he did an amazing job! Good luck finding the right dr. and I don't think you are being a psycho mama at all!
