How many of you will be bringing a gown or some sort of jammies to the hospital to change into for the day or so of recovery? I just don't know if I can stand staying in the hospital frock for that long. I don't want to wear something of mine during L&D but I am wondering if it would be beneficial for my own mental state during recovery. Maybe something inexpensive? What are you all planning to do?
Re: Something to wear during recovery?
Hmmm I never thought about this. But during recovery I think I would much prefer my comfy flannel pj pants and t-shirt to a hospital gown.
Get some cute & comfy pjs just for the recovery. Pack them away and don't wear them until then. Nothing like new and comfy jammies :-).
I am. I don't like being in the hospital gowns after delivery. Usually, once they let me, I take a shower and put my own pajamas on. It was still pretty warm when DD and DS were born, so Ihad light pajamas, but I think I'm going to get some warm flannel ones with a button down shirt to make nursing easier. I'm going cheap in the event that I bleed heavier than I did with the first two, but I want something of my own.
I hear people say this, but I've never been checked after my deliveries. My doctor comes in and feels my stomach, but that's it.
Same here. I never had any kind of vaginal check, just pushing (hard!) on the uterus to make sure there was no clotting left over tissue or whatever it is they check for.
Have you guys seen these?

I was wondering how much of a waste of money it would be to get my own comfy hosptial gown. Or if you can get away with a night gown and a robe? All i do know is that i am taking my favourtie knee length fluffy blue stripped socks with grippy bottoms!
I'm planning on making or buying myself a delivery gown or skirt (haven't decided yet), and will absolutely be changing into something else of my own after delivery.
Good tip about lots of socks and the gushing... I'll definitely remember that!
