don't hate me...we have a great pumping room, which can be used by 2 Moms at once, we have lockers to store your pump, magazines to read, sink to clean up, fridge/freezer to store and even a TV. I know I'm totally spoiled but I credit the room for still pumping/BFing (not a drop of formula!) 10 mo later
I am so jealous Sofka. Every day I have to search for a place. It really sucks and is more than a little stressful. But 5 months in and still EBF so it's still going...
Wow Sofka, I thought I had it good. We don't have a sink or TV in ours. I hate washing pump parts in the bathroom. And I'd probably take a lot longer if there was a TV in there.
I haven't checked it out yet, but our building does have a lactation room. You have to reserve times to use it, though, so that's the option I chose. It's better than pumping in the bathroom, though, or my cube!
Ditto Sofka. My office has a "wellness room" which has a door/lock, & was instrumental in my BFing for 10 1/2 months. In DC (where I work), it is actually a legal requirement at the workplace that the employer provides a private space that is NOT a bathroom for a mom to pump BM.
Enough of us made enough noise at my work to FINALLY have a dedicated pumping room, which we sign up for. Its really a storage closet, but at least it has a lock. Not ideal, but better than searching for a room.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
I was only the second person in our departments history to pump, so they had nothing. I pumped in the locker room. I made it about 4.5 months exclusively, but my supply started to dwindle and it got very stressful for me to feel like I was failing her. I stopped pumping at work and she gets formula while she is at daycare. I've been about a month without pumping during my work days. I work shift work and to date have had no problem nursing her on demand on my days off. Not what I was planning/hoping for, but it's better than nothing. I definitely wish we had a dedicated area for pumping.
Re: Poll: Pumping at Work - Where?
TTC #1 Cycle 14 - IUI#1=BFN, IUI#2=BFP | TTC #2 Cycle 8=BFP!!

I don't wash anymore, I just put all the parts in the fridge, rinse at the end of the day and DH washes them at night
I used to pump during TODAY SHOW, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, and ELLEN
I'm trying to wean now so I'm stuck watching whatever is on, although STILL STANDING is pretty funny
