Popping over from the second tri board. Hoping for some help!
DH and I love the name Casper for our LO if it's a boy. We're fairly certain Casper The Friendly ghost is a cartoon that today's children don't really know about.
I was hoping you moms could confirm or destroy that suspicion for me?? We don't want to damn our child to a life of taunting... but it's an old family heritage name we'd like to revive if possible.
TIA!!
Re: What does your child say when....
i meant rude to other parents lol
I love the name but cant help it but think of the lovely ghost.
I agree with the pp, kids wont know about the fictional character, but parents will definetly think of it.
I actually really like the name. A German friend of mine almost used it for her son. (But spelled Kaspar with the emphasis on the latter syllable.)
If any parent makes any cracks. "Well, at least my son has the word 'friendly' associated with his name. Too bad I can't say the same for you." lol.
there are so many different and unique names out there nowadays. I don't think Casper is odd, and if it is questioned, just tell them it is a family name.
I've seen some real doozies out there, so Casper is kinda nice.
Maybe spelling it with a K would keep people from making the connection?
The name is NMS, but it does sound nice.
