Pregnant after a Loss

f/u to high heartrate post

Last night I posted that my LO's heart rate was about 170 which is a lot higher than it normally is. I tried my doppler again last night, about 45 mins after getting that reading and all sounded normal. He moved a lot throughout the night and this morning. I tried the doppler again this morning, and again it was normal. I don't know if this was just a one time thing, or maybe I was picking up both our heartbeats or something (even though you could hear it was noticably faster). I'm thinking of calling the dr just to be sure I shouldn't worry. I know most dr's don't worry unless it's a sustained decel or acceleration of the heartrate, but it sure worries me a whole lot!

Re: f/u to high heartrate post

  • I'm glad it went down.  This LO's heartrate has always been really high (173 at one of the first appointments!) and I worry when it goes down.  I think we all worry no matter what on this board ;)

  • My doctor told me that it's normal for the baby's heartrate to range about 20 bpm.  I think it was probably fine but please update us after you talk to your doctor.  I'm sorry it was such a stressful night.  ((hugs))
