Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

You know you're a mom when...

...you use one of your kid's spoons to chow down on ice cream cause all the adult spoons are in the dishwasher.

Your turn.

Re: You know you're a mom when...

  • You eagerly hold out your cupped hand to catch vomit because, well... you don't want your child to throw up on themselves, for crying out loud... Yep, did this last night.

  • You eat a Goldfish, piece of banana or graham cracker off the floor because it's easier than walking all the way to the trash can.

And said pieces of food may or may not have been in DC's mouth at one point.

    You win!

  • .....you open your purse to pay at the checkout and find your dc has "hidden" his spoon, one of his sandals, a paci and a peek-a-block in there.

  • Your DH says "Honey can you come get this booger out of his nose?  My fingers are too big" and you're proud because this is yet another thing Mommys are better at.
  • You master the art of peeing while standing up and holding your child away from everything in the bathroom

People told me I would do this and I just KNEW that I wouldn't.  I am terrified of vomiting and/or seeing vomit and anything that has to do with vomit.  Don't you know my hand was right under DS's mouth the first time he threw up.

  • ........you squash a jumpy jittery black spider that's hanging out by the diaper station while you're changing DC with no hesitation and you know had DC not been with you or it had been in any other room (w/o DC) you would've been as scared as you always have been to kill a spider lest it jump on your face and poison you to death by biting your nose.........
  • This post is great.  I can't believe that I'm not the only one who does crazy stuff like this!  I have seriously done almost every one of these, including eating the food because I was too lazy to go to the trash can and catch the vomit in my hand because it's easier to wash my hand than the baby.  I'm embarrassed to admit it.

Oh no. No, no, no... please, God, don't make this a mommy test for me. I can catch vomit with my bare hands, eat half-eaten floor food, and pick boogers, but I CAN NOT kill a jumpy jittery black spider. My skin is crawling just typing the cursed words. ::shiver::

lol. Seriously, I killed that nasty thing with the used diaper I had in my hands...........but while I didn't hesitate as I normally would (see death by poisoned nose above) I most certainly squealed like a little girl, droppped the diaper, and prayed as I slowly lifted the Diaper of Death to see (hope, really) if the spider was still under it. It wasn't..........I had to lunge and squish again.........yeah, I kinda wish I'd picked up a new diaper instead....

  • When you use a thermometer, without hesitation, to pick at poop stuck in DD's butt.  It was stuck in there and she was in pain. (not once but twice).

when you've not only caught puke in your hand, but projectile poop too...  to avoid from getting it on your own shirt.

  • I've eaten food that was in DS's mouth and he spit it out (he's picky and wastes some perfectly good food!). I often "cut" DS's food with my teeth when I dont have a knife handy. And I catch puke with my hands on a regular basis.
