Hardly any of the seatbelts in grocery carts fit around DS's waist. He still really needs one -- otherwise he's twisting around to see people, to get stuff out of the cart, etc.
How do you handle this?

if it's broken or just won't adjust, i find another cart. if it's a place where i know they won't work, i bring a stroller when i go there. she's too much of a flight risk.
you could always go the klassy way and diy it with a belt or something. lol
If those choices aren't available for some reason, I dont go shopping. lol Sorry, i'm no help. I'm too much of a germaphobe right now to put her in the cart alone.
On the topic of grocery carts, DD just reached thru the back of the seat and got her sweet pudgy arm stuck--it was awful. I was right there w/ her but thought she was reaching over the seat and didn't notice til she was screaming. I couldn't bend her arm right to squeeze it back through Just a note to be so careful!
Thankfully a man ran over and pulled the bars apart enough to help her arm out. (She was fine, but shaken up... we both were!)
Do you give him stuff to play with while you shop? DD is able to twist around in the cart but she doesn't try to very often. I always let her play with items as we're shopping, or bring "special" toys for her.
I run into the same problem. If baby doll shops with me, DH usually comes too. It makes it easier. I'm also not a big fan of grocery carts because there was a recent outbreak of staph infection due to the use of shopping carts out here in Hawaii.
DS is really good at twisting around in the cart and standing up - all in about 1 1/2 seconds. No matter how tight the belt is. If it's not going to be a quick shopping trip, I wear him on my back.
Hmm -- we use a grocery cart cover, but it doesn't have a seatbelt on it.
Ditto. I was about the ask what the shopping cart cover has to the do with the seatbelts, not realizing that some come with them. That would be really helpful...wish I had one of those!

I just beat her into submission....lol
I won't go to the store without DH anymore so this way when she has a melt down he can hold her so I can still do my shopping
