  I actually thought this one wasn't too bad, but I like the old-fashioned wooden ones. the plastic ones are just kind of...eh.

  Yes, they are ugly. But they do the job. I know ours is a godsend. It keeps Wyatt out of Caleb's room when he's napping. If we didn't use it, Caleb wouldn't be able to nap, because Wyatt looooves to wake him up when he's sleeping.

  This is going to sound bizarre, but try the Dr. Foster & Smith pet catalog. They have tons of upscale "pet" gates (ie, baby gates, haha) that are really pretty.

  This. I have found some cute "pet" gates!! Like why is that when you have a baby, you don't want nice things/things that coordinate with your decor like gates?

  I don't get why pet gates are better looking either.  Look around on this site to see f you find something you like.  Frontgate is more expensive, but you might be able to shop around once you find something you like.
