OK, here's the thing. I know you're supposed to do fetal kick counts, especially if you think the baby isn't acting right, but I honestly don't know what to think.....at this point, I know the movements are supposed to be different b/c he's getting a lot more squished in there so I'm not expecting the hard kicks or anything. The problem is that I can't tell if what I am feeling is a hiccup type spasm or an actual movement. Since hiccups don't count on kick counts. The other thing is that I have tried the things that usually get him to move a lot - eating cocoa krispies, putting something cold on my belly, laying on my right side...I might get one or two movements, but only after (literally) begging and pushing and poking at my belly.
I didn't really worry too much about it the last two days b/c I was running around at work and figured I just missed his movements. I've noticed a little more today since I've decided to lay in bed and just pay attention to him...but not as much as he used to last week......we have another ultrasound check on Monday, do you think it's ok to just wait? It seems like everytime I beg really really hard he gives me one movement and that's it. Enough for me to take a deep breath and know he's still there. I've tried listening to him with a stethoscope, but the only one I have at home is pediatric and isn't strong enough for me to hear through my big belly....my good one is in my locker at work........anyway....thoughts?
Re: Not sure if I should worry....
Just saw this post. I hope everything's ok. I have gotten freaked out a few times in the past few weeks, too, because I can't feel him move as much. Usually if I get up and change positions or go do something else, I'll notice him moving. Eating or drinking usually helps too.
I think a lot of times you just end up getting so used to feeling them moving around, that you kind of don't even notice it when they do, esp. when you get busy with other stuff.
