Anyone been to a wedding with DC?

We didnt know anyone but the bride at this wedding so we declined and said we didnt have a sitter. Than she called this week a week before the wedding. Saying she had a babysitter in the bridal suite and a highchair set up at our table. I was so put on the spot. My DH isnt happy were going!

I just hope she isn't a chatty kathy while she is walking down the aisle. I guess I will bring my stroller into the reception incase she is tired? Feels so weird esp in stilettos!! lol

  • We have brought dd to a few weddings. I would think that if the bride is making such an effort for you to come, she won't mind baby noise during the ceremony (well, aside from wailing :))

During one of them we went to, dd was talking off and on and making noise and I kept taking her out (we were in the very back, so it wasn't a big deal). Afterwards, both the bride and groom told us that we shouldn't have worried about it. :)

    Have fun! :)

  • Well, I'd say if she's going to that much trouble she really wants you there, regardless if your DD makes a little noise.  The stroller is a nice idea, but it would be okay IMO if you don't stay too late--I'm sure if they're that understanding about your needs to bring her, they'd be understanding if you need to get her home and in bed.

  • My DH's twin brother got married this summer so of course DD went.  She had sooooooo much fun looking at everyone and hearing the music at the reception.  She didn't even cry once or fall asleep!  I was shocked at how happy she was from 3-11!!  She did decide to talk during the part of the ceremony of "speak now if you object" but they thought it was funny.  (I took DD out of the gazebo, but since it was an outdoor wedding there wasn't really another place to go).  Have fun!  Especially since the bride was so accomidating to your little one =)

  • You can always bail early and say you need to stick to the bedtime routine.
