Hating Cereal

So I've been trying to give M cereal for about three weeks now.  She absolutely hates it.  I feel like I'm fighting her to get her to eat just 1/2 a tablespoon.  We've tried rice and oatmeal so far with the same results.  Anyone have any advice?

    either wait and try again in a week or so or try mixing in a fruit or veggie

    This thought has crossed my mind.  We started on reccomendation from our pedi because she was eating eating eating all the time.  **insert long story about pedi problems here**  We see a new pedi on Wednesday, so maybe I will quit until I talk to her.

    I would try mixing a little fruit in there.  If she likes the taste she might want to eat.

    FWIW, we never did cereal. We started with sweet potato and avocado and never did cereal at all... Ethan really didn't like it. Now he eats oatmeal, but not baby oatmeal.

    DS is the same way with cereal. He does fine with regular baby food, but just not the cereal. I find that if I mix it with a little fruit he will eat it just fine. Your DD may just not like the taste of the cereal.

    She doesn't push it out with her tounge.  She will eat a few spoonfuls then screams and cries.

    The only cereal M will eat is Barley! I had a hard time finding it. But we mix it with stuff- he loves sweet potatoes and all fruits- maybe mix a little in?

    We started solids at 5 months and it took him about 2 weeks to really "take" to it!
