Bakery recs?

Hello, OC mamas! ?We're going to be at my parents' to celebrate DS's 1st birthday, and if I bake his cake, it will be ridiculously lame. ?Anyone know of a good place to have a 1st birthday cake made that's not outrageously expensive? ?My parents are in Newport, so that general area would be best, but any recs are welcome. ?

TIA!?

  • French's Pastry on Baker and Fairview in Costa Mesa is good.  Their cakes are really good and very reasonably priced.

  • Fullerton might be out of your way ...BUT..i highly recommend Beverly's Bakery on Brea Blvd.  I was torn as to where to get my babyshower cake and read great things from the bump not too long ago about that bakery.  Went, saw pictures ordered my cake and it was a HUGE hit...I went to so many bakeries from Costa Mesa to Orange to Buena Park and finally here and the prices were NOT bad at all.  My cake fed 50 people and it was $80, decorated like a gift with a big pink bow..I'd share a picture but not sure how to..Anyways.sorry so long but I hope this helps..

     GL!

  • French's off of Fairview.  Jack had his 1st b-day on the 9th and we got his cake from there.  They do a complimentary smash cake when you order a larger cake (for everyone else to eat!).
