How long do you let LO's butt area dry before re-diapering?

Although my DS's area gets cleaned well with wipes during diaper changes, I'm always leary to put a new diaper on right away because I feel like it needs to air-out first. But, I don't exactly have the time to just stand there for 10 minutes while it dries.

What do you do? Towel-dry then diaper? Is it nessecary? He doesn't have a rash by any means, but it just seems like it would be more comfortable...

    I usually pat his butt dry with a cloth diaper (I use it to cover his penis during changes to avoid pee geysers) and then put on vaseline before rediapering.

    I don't dry it.  We use a little Aquaphor at each diaper change so I don't worry about rash.  His area gets aired out during tummy time (we open up his diaper) or massage time (he's naked), too.

    I am a SAHM & usually dont go to many places during the day while DH works so while i am home when i change LO i usually just let her lay in her crib on top of one of my burp clothes that hold moisture just incase she decides to pee again an let her air out.. She loves it.. Later in the day i still do it just not as much... If we are out i will pat her dry with a burp cloth i keep in her diaper bag just for that.. Then good to go!Smile

    I only make sure his bum is dry when putting a diaper on after a bath. Other than that I don't bother to air out and we've never had diaper rash

    I don't attempt air drying at all. Everything would be covered with pee.

    I just fan it for a few seconds with the new diaper... not too long so I don't get peed on!

    This.  And we also lay him on a diaper sometimes during tummy time.  This is getting difficult though because he moves around a lot, or rolls. lol

    We always fan her butt dry before putting on the new diaper. We have a piece of cardstock that we use; it only takes a few seconds. She loooves it!
